Are you considering starting a Transition Initiative in your town? The Training for Transition, July 25-26 in Montpelier, Vermont, is an in-depth introduction to the Transition Town model and the skill sets and tools needed to become a Transition catalyst in your community. The Training will be taught by Alastair Lough, co-founder of the Transition Center, Portland, Maine and of the Portland Maine Transition Initiative, and Tina Clark, a consultant with the Sustainability Institute. Tina has been an advocate, educator, consultant, and director of nonprofit programs since 1985. She is popular speaker and educator on energy and environmental issues. Tina lives in Turners Fall, MA, in a zero energy, passive solar-heated, low-toxic home she helped design and build. The course includes the "fundamentals" for those wishing to know how to set up, run, and maintain a successful Transition Initiative. It is packed with imaginative and inspiring ways to delve into both the theory and practice of Transition, providing training in the basics of Transition for new communities coming on board.
