Building Community Resilience. With much enthusiasm and excitement, we are on Step Two of the Transition Process, meeting several times a month the first and third Thursday 5:30-7:30pm of every month in N. Bennington
"How are you involved in preparing for the changes that peak oil, economic instabilty and climate change are bringing, and in creating resilience and sustainable life style in our communities?"
My husband, Emery, and I are involved in the start up of a group in the Bennington Vermont area (also includes neighboring communities, including Cambridge, NY). We began a nebulous group of diverse members of our community because of a concern/feeling of urgency about these challenging times, and we had no idea where it would go...we just felt compelled to do something. Then a member of our group told us about TT and we thought, "YES, this is exactly what we are trying to put our finger on." We have only had a few meetings, but we have lots of passion and vision. We'll be reaching out to all of you for assistance and will gladly reciprocate.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
We are going to begin a film series, kicking off on Earth Day. We are also discussing other awareness-building events in our area, including visibility at our farmers' market and a music/art event sometime this summer. We have begun a series of mini-workshops at our big monthly meetings on a variety of topics, from permaculture to food storage to composting toilets. Also, a small, core group of us has begun meeting weekly to go through the TT handbook and learn the concepts. One of our members, Kathie B., has down the Montpelier training and is helping to guide us!
We are excited and inspired.
Thanks for writing. As I'm sure you know, spring is always a crazy time, but I'd love to do something there, and its always good to have another excuse to work with Mark!
I actually grew-up part time in the Manchester-Jamaica area, so its exciting to be a part of permaculture transition happening in the southern VT area.
Anyway- I look more closely at those dates, talk to Mark, and we'll get back to you.
Best,
K

Hi Tracey
Very nice to hear from you. I'd be more than happy to offer some type of permaculture training at Spirit Hollow in the coming months. I see that George also recommended contacting Keith Morris, who is a friend and colleague that I work with frequently. Please feel free to contact me via phone or e-mail to discuss things further. My number is 999-2768 and you may e-mail me at keylinevermont@gmail.com
Have a great holiday
Mark

Hi Tracey!
Just saw your November 12, comment re Permaculture teachers. Sorry about that! I was very ill and out of it for a while... I would
contact Keith Morris or Mark Krawczyk and see who they'd recommend. Search their names under members.
Hope you got my invitation to be on the panel for a TT presentation at the NOFA Winter Conf.?
Best! George ~
Hi Tracey,
Bill Laberge sent an email calling for participants in the T4T on October 10/11. Is the training going to go on as scheduled, or are we undersubscribed? Please keep me posted. Thanks!
I received the T4T Registration form yesterday, and I will be sending it out around the 1st of Sept. Thanks for providing a paper copy-I prefer working with checks and paper when it comes to this stuff. I am going to have to seek lodging that weekend; do you have any recommendations?
Thanks!
