I think the 2010 Vermont Village Building Convergence might be teaming up with the Growing Local Festival. It could be neat to organize more music festivities with that.

Theo--so many good comments. We are very fortunate to live in Vermont.... Yes, to a Vermont-apple-a-day per child (my kids LOVE apples and apple sauce and cider). See you this weekend, brother!

this is a good question. i think we have to get the town's school budgets bumped up a little and earmarked for local food, so that the people in the cafeteria who order from Cisco trucks have opportunity and direction to order from local farmers. t…

maybe each town should have a solar generated music sound stage that encourages culture and gatherings of music. Music is a renewable, sustainable artform. bring Solarfest to the Middlebury commons!

vermont should have a big music gathering place accessible by train. In the future it would be good to design concert/sports aren… Continue

A Statewide Conversation on Building Vermont's Food System

How can we build Vermont’s food system in the next ten years?

That’s the central topic of a well-organized conversation that’s happening in 8 places across Vermont in the next month.

The Farm to Plate Initiative and the Sustainable Agriculture Council are organizing local food summits. Farmers, food businesses and other stakeholders are being invited to say their piece. In the end, the state will spend some loot to make it happen. It sounds like government at it's best: trying to do good stuff… Continue

Transition Town cofounder rallies Vermonters

(author's note: This is an article I wrote about the event with Naresh last week. Let me know if you have another place to publish it!)

“I feel an intense urgency to do this work, and I hear that all over the world” said Naresh Giagrande, one of the founders of the Transition Town movement in the UK. Indeed, on that Nov. 24th evening at Montpellier’s Unitarian Church, one could feel that positive, encouraging, ready-to-go energy. It was an inspiring evening, and an auspicious beginning for Verm… Continue

HI Theo!

It was great to be with you at Amma. You're such a bright, shining one, and we are so glad to connect with you in the circle of Love.
Writing to see if you are still interested in joining us this week for our Spirit Quest camp?
We'd love to have you come spend any time you'd like with us this week, but Wednesday in particular would be priority.
You could come for the whole day, and we'll plug you into the agenda wherever it seems to work, but we'd love to have your energy and
insights in our circle for the entire day. We'll feed you lunch and dinner if you like.

Also, on Tuesday, our friend Vince Walsh, from Greenfield, NY will be on staff for the whole day. You might like to meet him and pick his brain because he also runs
a center called Kawing Crow Nature Awareness Center (he is a naturalist and wilderness guide--the kind of guy who can survive in the woods with a knife). He is a beautiful
man with much to share. So, if you wanted to come for any portion of tuesday, you'd be more than welcome then, too.

Let us know what you think! Email is fine or you can call 447-3895 or 442-2030

With so much love and so many blessings,
Tracey

Theo,
On several occasions recently, it crossed my mind to wonder to what extent I may have been wasting my time in Philadelphia. If we can stay in contact with you now, I would guess my efforts there were well invested.
I just got started. Haven't read your stuff yet, but I'm glad I got to meet you.

Hi, Theo... you can send the article as you'd like it to be published in the VPON Newsletter directly to me: newsletter@vtpeakoil.net. For publication in Vermont Commons, best thing to do is talk with Rob, using the email address I sent you. Good luck in Manchester!

Hi Theo! Welcome.
Great article. Thanks for posting it.
Yes, what was palpable in that room is exactly the power we must draw on if we are to survive and thrive
Very inportant: get Transition Manchester up as a 'group', even if it is just a glint in a few folks eyes at this point, so others in your area can find and connect with you.
Do you know Judy and Tony Schwartz in S. Bennington? If not, respond to my 'friends' request and I'll send you their contact info.
Best, George Lisi, Transition Town Montpelier
