"How are you involved in preparing for the changes that peak oil, economic instabilty and climate change are bringing, and in creating resilience and sustainable life style in our communities?"
I took the "Training for Transition" course (Nov 22-23, Cambridge, MA, USA) and got the early stages of a transition initiative going in Hamilton & Wenham, Massachusetts, USA. As of May 2009, I have moved to Waitsfield, Vermont and am participating in the "Valley Futures Network" which separate got started doing many of the same things as a typical transition initiative. In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I have been grappling with addressing both oil dependency and climate change for a whole. I am attracted to Transition because it clearly recognizes both of these issues together. Additionally, the concept of creating resilient communities and visioning of your community as a resilient community in the future feels right on to me. I am excited by the sheer number of other people who are also attracted to Transition and expect that the momentum and creative genius of these people will lead to vibrant, resilient communities of the future.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
- To leverage the best of practices of Transition in my community.
- To contribute success of transitioning communities by leveraging my experience with Carbonrally.com as well as my 20+ years of information technology, knowledge management, and product/project management expertise.

HI Stan, George Lisi forwarded me your question about communication. So far, we maintain an email list and send out a monthly newsletter. Our team meets weekly and emails and phones inbetween. We are still approaching keeping groups communicating, as our groups are not yet formed. Best, Annie

Good to meet, at least on email - and soon in person. Nice seeing you at the meeting too. Thanks for the kind words. We'll have another tour here soon. Let's ask the big high potential questions in this valley and pursue answers - so much is possible that's not even on the table yet!
