hey thanks for the invite Micha
unfortunately I'm going to be away so I won't be able to make it. I'll pass it on to the Burlington Permaculture group though.

Micha, so sorry to hear your business has closed. It looks like a beautiful space. Are you in the burlington area? What type of work are you looking for? I will keep an eye open for you!

Hi Micha
I noticed you were considering the rocket oven workshop i am hosting this month and i wanted to let you know we condensed the workshop to be only a weekend and will focus on the rocket oven and not the shelter element this time. the new cost is $200 and includes all meals, camping, and yoga... let me know if you have any interest.

Hi Micha
Glad you're enjoying the spring. I had a lovely day out in the woods myself!

So I'm not exactly sure which spring workshops you're referring to that are expensive. I know the grafting one that's coming up is a $30 suggested donation - that's because there are four teachers there and students leave with a grafted apple tree. That said, they are offering a sliding scale for the course (as we do with nearly all of our courses) which means that we'd rather have people come than not and we just ask that they can contribute what they can. For several of us, teaching and designing/contract work is how we earn a living and so it's difficult to always give time through free workshops etc. I'm struggling to earn money now as well so I can certainly appreciate your perspective. I don't mean to write back defensively but just wanted to let you know that we're doing the best we can to organize with strictly volunteer labor and want to make our offerings available to as many people as we can.

So, I hope we might see you there this Sunday. Also, I'm doing a sheet mulch party in the south end on Saturday. I"m about to send out an e-mail via Burlington Permaculture to announce it.
Ok, hope you're great - I'm still actively seeking out nice poles for the pergola. I'll keep you posted!
Bye
Mark

"..we are Kayakers and go out on the rivers /lakes of VT from April until Dec. 1st of each year. we sometimes spend 9 hours in our boats having way too much fun!!!!. we have 5 boats. u should come with us, soometime . love Micha and Ernesto Maestas"
Thanks for the invite - I might take you up on it sometime! I would dearly love to see the soft-shelled, (and other), turtles in the Winooski Delta. That whole delta environment fascinates me, and obviously the way to really interact deeply with it is from the water.
