Hi, friends. Juan is at work making us a banner. I told him all about the event and about landmarks in Montpelier and details of Vermont in general and told him that the only thing we really need to have on it is "Village Building Convergence" und...
"How are you involved in preparing for the changes that peak oil, economic instabilty and climate change are bringing, and in creating resilience and sustainable life style in our communities?"
Member of Burlington Permaculture group, student of Wisdom of the Herbs - wild edibles, hope to help organize a Village Building Convergence in VT this summer.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I feel called to do some part in ushering in a healthier, more ecologically sane and downright happier human existence.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
The first thing I plan to do is write a piece on the Transition movement for the Solutions journal (www.thesolutionsjournal.org).
I also walk in several communities and therefore tend to cross-pollinate sort of by accident and sort of on purpose: dance, massage/natural health, academia (Gund Institute at UVM), ecological agriculture, permaculture, regenerative design, social justice, Earth-based spirituality.

Jeri,
The posts from VBC "call for proposals" is good stuff. It seems like a good start for our vision. When we have ours done we can post it on the websites to give people a better idea of what we're doing.
I thought the meeting was good, even if a little overwhelming. Such a big idea to swallow and recapitulate. Things seem to be coming together. I suppose it will need a little wrestling to pin down.
Thanks for coming down to MP!
I know people we could hire, but I'm sure money will be something we have to keep a lid on as we move forward. I do know someone I know who may be interested in doing some limited filming if what we're doing interests him. Another option would be for me to borrow a camera and do it myself.
Hey jeri
so glad to hear the meeting was great. I'm bummed I missed it but our course was pretty awesome as well. Unfortunately I can't make it to the steering committee meeting on Sat. - I'm off to the Vermont Grazing Confenerence - it's an all day affair. Bummer. I guess you'll have to keep me posted. Thanks for being so active. I'm sending you and paul a regular e-mail as well so check for that. Take care!
Jeri,
Thanks,
I sent the info to both mark and keith and others.
It would be good to check in with them. It seems important to get their support.
I have some others that I am also planning to get there. Would you be willing to check in with them(mark and keith) for extra umph?
Annie and I were out walking by the wetlands here yesterday and thinking in a few short months we were going to be showing folks plants and harvesting marsh marigolds there. I am SO psyched!!!!
Hey Jeri,
The Saturday meeting was great!
I look forward to working with you on this. It has so much awesome potential.
I made the VBC group and posted the meeting.
Let me know if anything comes up.
Welcome, Jeri!
What a pleasure and a gift it is to see you here. I love your 'cross-pollinate sort of by accident and sort of on purpose' .
Neighbor Annie and I dug some leeks from a new stretch of Rich Woods hillside that revealed itself to us on a Thanksgiving Day walk. When you write your piece for Solutions,I hope you will also post it as a blog here.
Happy Walkin' in Communities! George ~
