Profile Information

"How are you involved in preparing for the changes that peak oil, economic instabilty and climate change are bringing, and in creating resilience and sustainable life style in our communities?"
I am a member of the initiating committee for Transition Town Montpelier. I live in an outlying community, (with my cat Snowfoot!), where I teach about the wild plants, edible and medicinal, ecology, natural history, land energies, wholistic living skills, and reconnecting with the multi-dimensional sentience within us and all around us.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
By embracing the inevitability of dramatic change and harnessing the livingness of our will to survive and thrive, Transition towns create excitement, esprit de corps, and a sustained flowering of skilful, cooperative, community solutions, to transition to a world that is "energy-lean, time-rich, less stressful, healthier and happier.” It is possible, and we are the ones we have been waiting for.

Hi George! Thanks for you support in joining Transition Waterbury. I hope to keep the membership growing with the goal of possibly getting a book group going in the New Year. Any support in spreading the word and advice about the journey are warmly welcome and greatly appreciated! Cheers! Nicole

Hi George--I am hoping you can help me find a permaculture facilitator who is willing to travel to our site at Spirit Hollow to teach a permaculture design course.

Hey George! Can we get some social networking buttons on here? You know, like the little Facebook icons you see on blogs. Cheers

Hi George--it was small--13 of us (a coven!), but powerful and inspiring. We had four (including myself) from our Walloomsac group.
Alastair and Richard are great and they were so generous to come for so few folks. Apparently, enrollments are down across the board (hard times financially). the events at Spirit Hollow that do best are those that are 'pay-as-you-can-afford"....a good model for the future, I think. How are things in your neck of the woods?

Hi George,
My wife & I will be in VT late Oct-early Nov - Montpelier Nov 1st-4th to check out the city & surrounding area for a possible move. Looking for 1-3 acres (poss. more) for building an energy-efficient house, with space enough for garden, greenhouse & small orchard - poss. a hen-house. Would like to be within comfortable cycling distance to down-town Montpelier. Should we move to the area, we would of course enjoy participating in the local transition group.

Hi George--we'd still like to have more folks...we have like 13 people. If you know of anyone thinking of it, let us know! We have a few half-tuition scholarships to offer. If you are able to send around another administrative 'reminder', I'd be so grateful. Thanks and many blessings on your harvest.
