"How are you involved in preparing for the changes that peak oil, economic instabilty and climate change are bringing, and in creating resilience and sustainable life style in our communities?"

I am a member of the steering committee for Transition Town Montpelier.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?

The Transition movement provides an exciting and flexible roadmap to energize our communities into positive action as we meet an energy lean future and creatively move into a saner, more Earth-connected way of life.

How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?

As a community herbalist and Director of Wisdom of the Herbs School in Woodbury, Vermont, I seek to connect students and community members with the local wild edible and medicinal plants. I see again and again the sparkle that comes with the realization that we as human animals can sustainably forage and enhance our daily diets with wild plants and make our own medicine to care for ourselves and our communities; that we are truly and deeply a part of Nature. This is what the Transition movement calls The Great Reskilling.

Transition is a big deal here. Locally we've got municipalities going green with the eco-municpality movement, but it is often more talk than action. A very active and growing Alliance for Sustainability is encouraging. It's really full-time and fully active here. So far to go though....

With encouragement from Les, I also just posted a Transition Town Waterbury group that is waiting approval. I'm not sure I am qualified to lead this group but I am happy to at least get it going! I was signed up for a workshop with him last summer that didn't make so have never met him or heard him speak. I do read his blog (http://thearchdruidreport.blogspot.com/) and if he speaks half as well as he writes.
