Welcome!

Profile Information

"How are you involved in preparing for the changes that peak oil, economic instabilty and climate change are bringing, and in creating resilience and sustainable life style in our communities?"
Inspired by The Transition Handbook, I have added a SE Connecticut group to the mix of different ones on the Transition Connecticut network. Though I presently live elsewhere, I did attend college in Vermont; I have much gratitude for the teachers, students, and locals of this beloved state and "second home."
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
For the last few years, I have been interested in building community resilience, especially in "response to challenges of peak oil, climate change, and the economic crisis." Transition blends the above with the hope that something can be done.

According to the Iroquois, "Your past is your present, your present is your future, and your future is seven generations past and present." Despite our differences, we have things in common: We are interconnected to all beings and this Earth, and what we do to the Earth we do to ourselves.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
Oh, gosh, I am a woman of many hats, fast kinesthetic learner, and great organizer.

Much of my work in recent years has been of the healing, care-giving, and (earth-based) spiritual natures. I am a toddler teacher, Usui Reiki Master Teacher, and due to injury, retired Licensed Massage Therapist.

I graduated from Johnson State College, with a BA in Political Science, Minor in Journalism. I have PR experience, acting as liaison between the media, State of Vermont, and Abenaki Nation during my later college years.

I am an amateur poet and storyteller, with some piano experience. I am teaching myself to play fiddle. The community building alone around these forms of entertainment can be mind-blowing.
