Hey Jay-

Thanks for digging into some of the resources we're trying to get out there!

Lisa DePiano (one of the founders of the Montview Neighborhood Farm) was just up here last week for our Yestermorrow Permaculture class.

She'll also be joining us for the 3rd annual Burlington Permaculture Design Certification course, which will most likely be mid June.

She- and all the folks at Montview- are definitely doing some inspiring work!

Steve Briar and the folks at Tripple Brook have one of the most impressive plant collections anywhere!

(Check out Elmore roots for one of Vermont's)

They'll be hosting an Edible Forest Gardens workshop on October 16-18 if you'll be down there then. Contact Eric:

Looking forward to hearing and seeing what comes out of this group.

Digging through the information at the link to www.northeasternpermaculture.wikispaces.com provided by Keith Morris I was inspired by a couple of the listings, Montview Neighborhood Farm (CSA) Northampton, MA, as well as the Tripple Brook Farm in Southamption, MA . I am planning a trip to drop in on them before the snow flies. Some information about these projects I have listed below.

The Montview Neighborhood Farm is a human powered CSA and edible food forest, serving the Ward 3 neighborhood in Northampton, Massachusetts. We are located
on three acres of conservation land near downtown.

2009 Workdays

Want to get more involved with the Montview Neighborhood Farm? Want to learn
about no-till farming methods? Come to our workdays!

We will hold a workday the 3rd Saturday of each month April-November, from
9-noon. We will do a variety of hands-on projects such as making sheet mulched
beds, seeding, transplanting and weeding crops, creating garden paths, and planting fruit and nut trees.

Call several days in advance to find out what we will be doing and for weather-related schedule changes.

In Response to Ben:
Building Healthy Community Economies: Financial Permaculture in Burlington - Fletcher Free Library Community Room - Wed. 4/8
Building upon the insights of both finance and permaculture, financial permaculture aims to build financial ecosystems that create return for the investor as well as the network. Mapping one's local environment is essential and mapping the financial environment allows one to complete the picture. Then restorative solutions such as green incubators and investment funds, natural homebuilding, and Investment Circles can begin to create healthier local economies that keep more value locally. Led by John Maeck, this workshop discusses the important roles of trust, learning communities, and positive local investment networks to create positive resource flows. It also looks at the relationship between faith, values, and integrity in building healthier economies. 6:30-9pm. Free!

People should check out about Financial Permaculture.
Ecology and economy go hand in hand. We tend to miss the economy part.

We need to be thinking about how to make these ideas reality.
There's a summit this sept. in Tennessee.

Keith, I was just talking to the webmaster about that after I created the Nut Group (love it). First of all, that 'information' box is supposed to be short, like a tag line, so when lists of groups are displayed one doesn't take up 3x the room of the others. The intention is just to catch people's attention. If you click 'edit discussion; then 'text box' that's where you can put a lengthier descrip.

The cut off the description for some reason. THe whole things reads:

Northeastern Permaculture is a network of designers, farmers, students, activists, and other community members working to create positive alternatives to petroleum dependent and consumer lifestyles through permaculture design and practice. The user generatied wiki and listserve is an open discussion and notification of classes, workshops, and other events, and can serve to locate and inform others of designers, demonstration sites, and other resources.
